Climate Data

Hi,

I am Shivaprakash Yaragal, GIS Engineer and a Data Science enthusiast. My data science work is concentrated on Climate Change data. I practice ESDA ie Earth Science Data Analytics methodologies. I am starting a open-data creation project. Open-data would be for Earth Science. This would include parameters like Land Surface Temperature(LST), Vegetation, Snow Cover, Evapo-transpiration and many more.

As India is very vast Country, we could achieve the objective of creating Open-data only if its done in stages. Stages could be geographically defined or temporally defined or even parametrically defined. Geographically , i would be starting with my home state of Karnataka. I also wish like minded people to join the effort  of creating Open-data for Climate research and representation.

My work here would be concentrating on MODIS data freely provided by NASA program. People can join me with other satellite data as well. Every one is invited. This data is completely free ; But if ppl want to donate some amount for the effort (however small it is) , they are welcome. We would be using that money to buy "Telescope" and other planetary science materials for school. this would be used in Rural School in Mysore District( and many more if we have sufficient fund). However we havent yet planned account details and which school etc.
